Tetrahydrobiopterin and Autism

Tetrahydrobiopterin  (also known as THB, BH4, Kuvan, or sapropterin) is a naturally occurring nutrient and essential cofactor of the three aromatic amino acid hydroxylase enzymes, used in the biosynthesis of various neurotransmitters.

Some researchers think that tetrahydrobiopterin supplements can be used to increase social communication and social interaction skills in some people on the autism spectrum.
