Irritability and Autism

Irritability is a term normally used to describe the actions of individuals who are especially fussy, whiny, and fretful, despite attempts at comforting and soothing them.

However, it is also included as one of the main elements of psychological checklists, such as the Aberrant Behavior Checklist, when it is used to describe a range of challenging behaviours including anger and aggression, meltdowns and tantrums, and self-injurious behaviours.
