Child with autism running over hoops Motor skills are the skills needed to move your body or parts of your body.

It is reported that some people with autism have poor motor skills. For example, some people with autism find it difficult to stand upright or to hold a pencil between their fingers and thumb.

Some people with autism have dyskinesia, which is difficulty or distortion in performing voluntary movements. Others have hyperkinesis, which is excessive voluntary moments.

We are currently researching this issue to identify the nature and scope of the problem and to determine which interventions, if any, could be effective in alleviating the problem.
