Introduction
Levetiracetam is a type of anticonvulsant medication sold under under the brand name Keppraź
It s used to to prevent or reduce the severity of seizures.
Some people believe that levetiracetam can also be used to reduce some of the core symptoms of autism, such as social and communication difficulties and repetitive, compulsive behaviour.
Please note that levetiracetam can produce significant and hazardous side effects in some people.
Opinion
We are currently reviewing the literature on the use of the anticonvulsant medication levetiracetam as a treatment for people with autism.
