Clonazepam is a type of anticonvulsant sold under various brand names including Klonopin.
Clonazepam is is used to to prevent or reduce the severity of seizures. It is also used to relieve panic attacks, akathisia (restlessness and a need for constant movement), and to treat acute catatonic reactions (state in which a person does not move or speak at all or moves or speaks abnormally).
