Research into practice: National Autistic Society Conference 2008
19 – 20 September 2008 Novotel London West
The National Autistic Society 2008 Conference is being held at the Novotel London West Hotel from Friday 19 – Saturday 20 September 2008.
This is an event not to be missed. Vilanyur Ramachandran, Professor of Neuroscience, University of California at San Diego will be talking about mirror neurons and autism.
Other speakers include
- Evdokia Anagnostou, Assistant Professor at Mount Sinai School of Medicine.
- Olga Bogdashina, Visiting Lecturer at Birmingham University and Consultant Psychologist for Adults with Autism
- Simon Baron-Cohen, Professor of Developmental Psychopathology at the University of Cambridge and Fellow at Trinity College, Cambridge
- Rita Jordan, Professor in Autism Studies at the University of Birmingham Birmingham
- Michael Rutter, Professor of Developmental Psychopathology at the Institute of Psychiatry, Kings College, London
- Stephen Shore, President emeritus of the Asperger’s Association of New England
Taking the theme of ‘Research into Practice’ the conference programme combines keynote speakers and seminar sessions on a range of themes from sexuality through to autism in the prison population. The conference will also be promoting the work of Research Autism
The event promises to provoke interesting debate, provide opportunities to hear of the latest developments and learn more about best practice in the care and education of people with autism spectrum disorders (ASDs).
Most importantly, delegates will have plenty of opportunities to network and discuss current issues with others living and working with autism.
