Find FAQs and answers to all the most common queries below.

How do I apply for my own place?

You can enter online on the Edinburgh Marathon Festival website (Open in new window) Once you have had your place confirmed, inform Research Autism that you want to run for them by completing the online form (Open in new window)

How do I apply for a charity assured place?

To apply directly for a place on the Research Autism Team, fill in the online form (Open in new window)

What is a guaranteed/charity assured place (CAP)?

These are guaranteed places that the Research Autism Team has purchased directly from the Edinburgh Marathon race organisers and we require you to complete a Research Autism Team 2012 Edinburgh Marathon Festival Charity Assured Place Application Form for one of these places.

What is your ‘own place’?

Your ‘own place’ means that you have entered the online system for the 2012 Edinburgh Marathon Running Festival directly through the Edinburgh Marathon Festival website (Open in new window) You will have paid an entry fee directly to the Edinburgh Marathon race organisers – GSI Events.

Once your place has been confirmed in the Edinburgh Marathon, Half Marathon, Hairy Haggis Team Relay, 10K or 5K runs by race organisers (GSI Events), we’d be delighted if you join Research Autism Team. Simply fill in our online form (Open in new window)

How much do I have to raise?

If you have your own place there is no minimum sponsorship, we just ask that you raise as much as possible. If you have a Research Autism charity assured place, there is a minimum sponsorship pledge of:

Please note that Gift Aid cannot be included towards the above sponsorship amounts.

This will be due in one month after the event, 27 June 2012. Of course we’ll give you all the encouragement and support you’ll need to make sure you smash this target.

What kind of support will Research Autism give me?

When you join our Research Autism Team we will support you throughout your entire Edinburgh Marathon Festival experience no matter what race you’re taking part in.

In addition to our initial fundraising pack and tailored training guide, we will send you regular newsletters full of tips to help you prepare for the big day. What happens if I get injured?
