Research Autism is proud to have joined forces with over 140 other charities in the biggest combined effort of its kind ever in the UK, to promote to the general public the need to remember a charity in their wills.
As well as Research Autism, the Remember A Charity Campaign represents large and small charitable organisations from all sectors. The fact that so many charities are pooling their resources and working together is a measure of how vital legacies are to the future of good causes in this country.
At present 67% of the UK population supports charities, but only 4.3% include a charity in their will. We hope that if we show people how easy it is, more people will do it. Currently, about £1.3 billion is left to charities each year* the campaign wants to increase the number of wills that go to probate which include a charity by just 2%.
This would result in at least £180 million additional income per year to the sector. For more information on Remember A Charity or to download a free will guide, please visit www.rememberacharity.org.uk and go to the general public section.
