Research Autism was launched in 2004 as the only charity exclusively dedicated to research into interventions for individuals with autism. We commission, carry out and support high quality, independent research in order to improve the quality of life and outlook of those who have autism or care in some way for autistic children and adults.
We are lucky to have access to a highly qualified panel of scientific and medical experts who evaluate our research projects prior to their approval; and through our patrons and trustees we have the active support of some of the world’s leading figures in autism and research. The charity was setup by our Chairman, and is run through a small, dedicated team working across research, funding, information management and marketing functions.
To take us through the next phase of Research Autism’s development we are looking for a lively, passionate CEO with excellent business and influencing skills. The role will have primary responsibility for the charity’s strategy, fund-raising and marketing activities, and for the day-to-day leadership and management of the charity’s operations and team.
You may have a background from the third sector or the private sector – either way, you will be a self-starter with broadly-based business and management skills, and a strong track record of experience in fund-raising, marketing and financial management. An understanding of autism is desirable but what is most important is a clear interest in making a positive impact on the lives of those with autism.
Please write to us with your CV, explaining why you think you are right for this role, and providing us with specific evidence of your ability to meet each of the requirements listed in the Experience section of the Personal Specification attached. Please enclose details of your current remuneration.
Closing date: 1st March 2010.
