Medical

The information on this site has been written by the Information Manager and the other staff at Research Autism, unless otherwise stated. Information about autism, the problems faced by individuals with autism, and interventions used to help them has been validated by one or more members of Research Autism’s Scientific and Advisory Committee

The medical information published on this site is designed to support, not replace, the relationship that exists between you and your GP or medical advisor. We hope that by providing this information, you will gain a better understanding of autism, including the range of interventions (treatments, therapies and services) which are available.

Any information published on this site about medicines and drugs, or about other forms of treatment, has been written by non-medically qualified individuals, unless we specifically state otherwise. Any such information should be therefore be treated with care.

None of the terms and conditions on this page affect your statutory rights.

We recognise and respect the right to privacy of all visitors to this site. We also comply with the requirements of the Data Protection Act, which is designed to protect UK citizens against the abuse of personal information.

The only occasions on which we will ask you for personal information is if you become a Friend of Research Autism, if you Contact us with an enquiry, or if you take part in a survey.

Friends of Research Autism

We will take all reasonable care to ensure that all details, descriptions and charges relating to the Friends of Research Autism scheme appearing on the website are correct. We reserve the right to refuse applications to become Friends of Research Autism scheme where such information has been mis-published.

Online Donations

Although our website uses encryption security software in areas where on-line donations are accepted, the security of information and payments transmitted via the internet cannot be guaranteed. Any loss incurred or sustained by you when transmitting information by means of email or other internet links shall be borne solely and exclusively by you and in no event shall any such loss in whole or in part be borne by Research Autism or its agents

When you make an online donation via this website, you will be sent an acknowledgement email stating the date and time of the donation and the amount. Although the email will state method of payment (for example, credit card) it will not include the card details you have supplied for security reasons.

Direct Debits

If you take out a direct debit when you become a Friend of Research Autism you will be covered by the Direct Debit Guarantee

Refunds of Donations

If you request a refund of your donation, payment for the donation will be refunded within 30 days, unless you made your donation via a direct debit, in which case your donation is covered by the Direct Debit Guarantee. (See above).

If you paid by credit card the refund will be made to the card. Otherwise a cheque will be sent to you within this period.
