Research Priorities

Research Autism is determined to make a significant contribution to our understanding of what can help individuals and families affected by autism through world-class, evidence-based research. Research Priorities

Our work so far

We commission, carry out and support high quality, independent research into new and existing health, education, social and other interventions designed to help people with autism.

For example, we helped to fund the first UK-based research study into the effectiveness of early intensive behavioural intervention. And we have provided funding for studies into sleep problems, into bullying and into self-injury in children. Current Research

And we listen to individuals with autism, families, healthcare professionals and academics to establish what our research priorities should be. Collaborative Forum

What’s next?

With our Trustees, Advisors and supporters, we have identified three major areas of research that we consider to be urgently needed. We are now developing a detailed plan to bring the vision to life. Future Research.
