How to apply for support for a research proposal
Applications to Research Autism may be made on the application form and returned to Joanne McDermid, Research Project Manager. Research Autism, Westbourne House, 14-16 Westbourne Grove, London, W2 5RH or you can email it to research@researchautism.net.

Brief outline summary of what you need to include in your application for support
- Title of research
- Methodology (group study/ control trial/ RCT etc.)
- Sample size (treatment and control group)
- Participants (age, diagnosis, ability level)
- Source of participants (schools; parent, self referrals etc)
- Site of study (home, school, adult service, lab based etc)
- Time scale (duration of study, proposed start and end dates)
- Assessment measures
- Outcome measures
- Ethical issues. (including whether the proposal has been submitted for ethical approval)
- Likely benefit (people with autism, families, professionals and public)
- Other comments
- Support sought-
- Funding (amount)
- Reference
- Endorsement
- Participation
- Other (specify)
- Outline of indication of costs (to include estimated salaries, dissemination, expenses etc)
- Has an application has been made for other sources of funding
- Names and background of research team
- Name and contact details of lead researcher
- Signature and date
