On 27 June, after 64 gruelling days across 3,878 miles, William Rudd and Alex Willan completed their epic bike ride across America, from New York to San Francisco, completing their journey in style by cycling into the cold waters near Golden Gate Bridge.
The ride was the equivalent of a trip from London to Cape Town and back, and took the boys through some of the roughest terrain they have ever faced, including temperatures of up to 40 degrees Celsius and altitudes of 11,000 feet. In the process, William and Alex have so far raised the fantastic sum of £18,000. Their target is to raise a lot more so if you would like to sponsor them, please visit www.justgiving.com/x-america4autism.
All of us at Research Autism would like to say a huge thank you and well done to William and Alex for this truly fantastic achievement.
