Autism and Primary Care: About This Website

The Autism and Primary Care website is designed to help primary care staff to help patients on the autism spectrum.

It is run by Research Autism and was developed in consultation with a number of individuals and organisations including Dr. Carole Buckley, the clinical champion for autism at the Royal College of General Practitioners.

Research Autism

Research Autism is the only UK charity dedicated to high-quality research into autism treatments, therapies and other approaches.

Our vision is of a world in which people on the autism spectrum are no longer excluded, and where they and their families are able to enjoy a good quality of life.

Information Standard bannerResearch Autism is currently the only autism organisation accredited to the NHS Information Standard.

The Royal College of General Practitioners is the professional membership body for family doctors in the UK and overseas.

The RCGP has identified autism as a clinical priority. It aims to develop and implement a strategy for primary care.

Through the work of the Clinical Champion, the College will work with partners in promoting models of best practice and pathways of care and will develop learning and educational resources.
